5/21/2021 MM Program at USC: Semester 2

Needless to say, this year has provided a wide variety of challenges, both personal and professional. Nonetheless, it has been a useful one in terms of helping me to focus my creative mind and my musical expression. I am extremely excited to incorporate a new logo designed by my friend Steven Robinson, which you’ve no doubt seen by now if you are on my website. There are also several extremely exciting developments coming that I’m not yet at liberty to fully discuss, but I am greatly looking forward to the opportunity to share everything in due course.

Now that the second semester of classes of my MM has concluded, I will find myself with more time to more fully process my grief from recent events, especially the passing of my maternal grandfather and my paternal grandmother. Now that I am fully vaccinated, I look forward to the opportunity to see family and friends again and reconnect after such a period of extended physical separation. I especially look forward to making connections with my friends and colleagues in the USC Thornton School of Music, as we have been largely unable to physically meet until quite recently.

I also want to take this summer to focus on a few composition projects, one of which will be to update my listening library with recordings in voices of all of back catalogue of works. After seeing the results that I was able to generate with just my significant other and myself on The Second Coming, I see the opportunity to provide voiced recordings of all of my works, at least for sample, while I await the opportunity for live performance to return more fully and safely.
